Tucson Sahuaro senior Kathryn Ottman played almost flawless golf on Saturday to capture the individual championship of the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawk Invitational held at the OMNI Tucson National.
Salpointe hosted Sahuaro and Oro Valley Canyon del Oro on Tuesday at Randolph North in Tucson and Hughes finished with a 35 and Harris shot a 38. Sahuaro and Salpointe tied with a team score of 156 and The Dorados came in with a 207.
Xavier golf nabs Antigua National Invite crown
Two-time state champion Allie Schadler of Rio Rico is back for her junior year. She is our logical choice for the Southern Arizona Preseason Runner of the Year. On the boy's side, however, the top eight runners and the top 15 of 20 have all graduated.
Girls VB, XC, swimming and fall soccer begin seasons
Harris competed in several other junior events this summer and will be traveling to Scottsdale this weekend to compete in the Scottsdale Junior Championship. She will also compete in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Girl’s Championship in early September in Greenville, South Carolina.
The Division I and II golf season got underway Monday and several Southern Arizona standouts have already begun to post qualifying rounds for the state tournament.
