The Amphitheater Panther Soccer Invitational is taking place this week at various sites around Southern Arizona with the championship matches scheduled for Saturday night at Amphitheater High School.
The Small School Boyd Baker Tournament, the Lancer Tip Off Classic and the Turkey Shootout got underway Monday with the Boyd Baker taking place at Immaculate Heart and The Gregory School while the Lancer Classic is being played at Salpointe and Central. Walden Grove is hosting the Girls Turkey Shootout.
No. 1 Pusch Ridge would go on the defeat No. 4 Benjamin Franklin 47-7 to improve to 13-0 on the year while the Chargers fell to a respectable 11-2 mark in only the fourth year of the program’s existence.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Lions and the Chargers, but that’s understandable considering Ben Franklin competed as an independent squad in 2014 before entering the AIA ranks in 2015.
