Desert Tune-Up Track & Field Invitational
Saturday, Mar. 11 at Mountain View Marana
20 teams from Southern Arizona competed in the Desert Tune-Up Invitational held Saturday at Mountain View High School. The Salpointe boys scored 123 points and the Marana girls scored 105 points to win the team titles.
Empire sophomore Jacquelyn Candito won the 400-meter race (1:00.02), the 800M (2:29.21) and she took second in the 100M (12.84) to Buena senior Kiara Russell (12.82). Flowing Wells senior distance runner Morgan Risch won the 1600M (4:32.92) and the 3200M (10:05.47).
Marana senior Dominic Gehr took the 110M Hurdles (15.71), the 300M Hurdles (41.91) and the Long Jump (22-01) while Salpointe senior Sean Barton won the High Jump (6-04) and the Triple Jump (44-09).
