MaxPreps/NFCA Players of the Week for March 28- April 3, 2016

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Heritage Academy's (Ariz.) Mikayla Rojas, St. Mary's Ryken's (Md.) Madison Aughinbaugh, Lakeland's (N.Y.) Cameron Lischinsky, Avon Grove's (Pa.) Maggie Balint and Oskaloosa's (Kan.) Haidyn Bassett have been named MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for contests played March 28-April 3.
West Region – Mikayla Rojas (Heritage Academy High School – Laveen, Ariz.)
Homering in nine of her 11 at bats, Rojas powered Heritage to three wins last week. She knocked in nine runs each game and slugged an astronomical 3.153. Of her three multi-homer contests, the senior captain launched a season-high four, including a grand slam in the final contest of the week against East Valley Athletes for Christ. Rojas started the week with three long balls, her first grand slam, and three runs scored versus Mission Heights Prep. She also went 4-for-4 with a double, triple, two homers and four runs scored against West Phoenix.
South Region – Madison Aughinbaugh (St. Mary's Ryken High School – Leonardtown, MD.)
Aughinbaugh had a big week in the circle, going 4-0 with 49 strikeouts and three shutouts. In addition, she helped herself at the plate by hitting .600 (9-for-15) with three doubles and eight runs scored. The senior righty started the week with back-to-back two-hit shutouts against Jefferson and South Range. She struck out a season-best 18 in the latter contest, a 3-0 triumph, while punching out 13 versus the Colonials. Capping off her outstanding week, Aughinbaugh twirled a one-hit shutout in a six-inning win over George Washington. Aughinbaugh registered three hits and three runs apiece against Jefferson and George Washington, and doubled once in each of the final three games of the week
East Region – Cameron Lischinsky (Lakeland High School – Shrub Oak, N.Y.)
Enjoyed a perfect start to her junior season, going 7-for-7 with three doubles, a home run, seven RBI and six runs scored, helping Lakeland win its first two games of the year. In the season opener, Lischinsky was 4-for-4 at the plate, clubbed two doubles and a home run, knocked in five and scored four more runs. On Friday, she added three more hits to her resume against Carmel. Lischinsky doubled, drove in two and scored twice. In addition, she walked once in each contest and reached base safely in all nine plate appearances.
North Region – Maggie Balint (Avon Grove High School – West Grove, PA.)
Balint began her senior campaign by striking out 38 and tossing a no-hitter in three starts for the Red Devils last week. Making her third start of the week, Balint no-hit East High School, fanning nine and walking one in a five-inning 10-0 victory. After she struck out 12 in a one-hitter against Henderson, the senior captain struck out a week-best 17 batters in a four-hit shutout of Unionville. At the plate, she hit .500 (5-for-10), which included a 3-for-4, three-RBI outing with her first home run of the season versus Unionville.
South Central Region – Haidyn Bassett (Oskaloosa High School – Oskaloosa KS.)
Bassett had a hand in the Bears' first four wins of the season, hitting three home runs, knocking in 14 and scoring 13 runs. She hit .833 (10-for-12), slugged 1.916 and recorded an .867 on-base percentage. In the season-opener, she went 4-for-4 with a double, triple, six RBI and four runs against Atchison County and added two hits, two runs and a double in the game two of the twin bill. Two days later against Atchison High School, Bassett was 4-for-4 with six runs scored in a doubleheader sweep. In game one, she launched three home runs and recorded seven RBI. The bat was taken out of her hands in game two as she walked three times and scored three runs.
