Southern Arizona DII/III Games of the Week

Although all games are important, here are a couple from each division that are sure to shape the rest of the season. Kickoff at 7 p.m.

DIVISION II

Section I

Tucson (3-1)

Sunnyside (3-1)

Sahuaro (2-2)

Salpointe Catholic (2-2)

Cienega (1-3)

Buena (0-4)

Section III

Ironwood Ridge (3-1)

Mountain View (3-1)

Queen Creek (2-2)

Canyon Del Oro (0-4)

Poston Butte (0-4)

Sahuaro (2-2) at Ironwood Ridge (3-1)

Still one week away from sectional play. The Cougars would like to avoid picking up a third loss, the historic edge between making the playoffs and staying home. Ironwood Ridge had a huge win over Tucson last week and the power points will start to roll in.

Williams Field (3-1) at Sunnyside (3-1)

The Blue Devils are making a statement.  Their win over Mountain View two weeks ago put them in the spotlight where they belong. Sunnyside snuck into the playoffs last year with a 6-4 record and then went on to shock Ironwood Ridge in the first round.

DIVISION III

Section VI

Sabino (4-0, 1-0)

Catalina Foothills (4-1, 1-0)

Safford (3-1, 1-0)

Marana (2-2, 0-0)

Desert View (3-2, 0-1)

Nogales (3-2, 0-1)

Rincon/University (1-4, 0-1)

Desert View (3-2, 0-1) at Sabino (4-0, 1-0)

The Jaguars have lost two in a row and now Desert View will have to make a trip to Sabino. The Sabercats have to keep on winning to prepare for the end of their schedule when both Safford and Catalina Foothills come calling.

Marana (2-2, 0-0) at Catalina Foothills (4-1, 1-0)

This would a be a season maker for the Tigers heading into section play. Meanwhile, the Falcons are already halfway through their season. As long as they don't look past Marana to get to Safford the Falcons should be ready.
