Per AIA rules:

The top team in each section will automatically qualify for the state tournament.

The section winner will be determined by their team's iWanamaker (iWr) rankings. The iWr is calculated using the sum of the team’s four (4) lowest individual iWr.  The teams seven (7) best team iWr will be used for calculating purposes.

Division I Boys and Girls: Five (5) section winners and 10 at-large teams will qualify for the state tournament.

Division II Boys: Nine (9) section winners and six (6) at-large teams will qualify for the state tournament.

Division II Girls: Eight (8) section winners and seven (7) at large teams will qualify for the state tournament.

 

Boys and Girls Individual Qualification:

Each players best seven (7) rounds will be used for qualifying.

Division I: The top 15 individuals not on a qualifying team

Division II: The top 21 individuals not on a qualifying team

 

Although a few of these golfers will qualify under the team process, here are the best rounds from Monday from Southern Arizona:

The Tucson Salpointe boys defeated Tucson Rincon/University 136 to 150 on Monday at Dell Urich (par 35).

Salpointe's Trevor Werbylo posted the best round so far with a 3-under 32. Salpointe freshman Cole Harris shot a 34 and junior Eric Duarte also scored a 34. Derek Lozier and Joseph Kennedy had a 1-over 36 as did Rincon freshman Dallen Graybill.

Werbylo birdied his first four holes to pace Salpointe.

Marana's Sean Moreno shot an even 36 at Quarry Pines.

Adrian Grijalva led Oro Valley Ironwood Ridge with a 1-over 36 at the Douglas Golf Club.

Tucson Sabino's Austin Rustand shot a 2-over 37 at Arizona National. That round may help him get to state as an individual.

Sierra Vista Buena's Briggs shot a 3-under 33 at the Duce Pueblo Del Sol Country Club and Marana Mountain View's Cooper Cordova came in one stroke behind with a 2-under 34.
