MaxPreps/NFCA Players of the Week for April 27-May 3, 2015

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hannah Anderson of Caledonia-Mumford (Caledonia, N.Y.), Haley Gyurina of Muncy (Muncy, Pa.), Patty Maye Ohanian of Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), Presley Bell of Dayton (Dayton, Texas) and Kailee Ramirez of Portales (Portales, N.M.) were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week, respectively, announced on Monday for games played April 27-May 3.
East
Anderson, a junior shortstop, batted .733 (11-for-15) with 13 runs scored, six RBI, two doubles, a triple and two home runs. She scored at least twice in all four games and recorded three-multi-hit contests, helping the Raiders to a 4-0 week. Anderson crossed the dish four times against a Wheatland-Chili and Pavilion, going 3-for-4 in each of those contests. She closed out the week with a 4-for-5 effort in which she scored three times, drove in three runs, doubled and homered against Geneseo. Anderson also left the yard against Pavilion and knocked in a pair of runs.
North
Gyurina paced Muncy's offensive attack by batting .800 (8-for-10) with three doubles and a home run, six RBI and six runs scored during a 3-0 week for the Indians. Gyurina highlighted her week, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBI versus Montgomery. The junior captain also posted two-hit contests against Sullivan County and Benton. Against Sullivan County, Gyurina knocked in three and scored twice. She double, homered in the finale versus Benton. For the week, she recorded a .818 on base and 1.400 slugging percentage, respectively.
South
Ohanian hit.812 (13-for-16) and slugged a robust 2.063 with three doubles, five home runs, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored for the Knights. The sophomore started her week off by homering twice, driving in three and scoring two runs versus St. Mary's Ryken. Ohanian left the hard again and recorded three RBI in a 10-3 win over Seton. In her final two games of the week, she was a perfect 7-for-7 with a double, triple, two long balls, seven RBI and six runs scored helping Bishop O'Connell to triumphs over Paul VI and Bishop Ireton.
South Central
Bell posted a pair of two-hit shutouts, struck out 18 and chipped in with a home run and three RBI in Dayton's two wins over Lumberton last week. She opened with a 11-strikeout, one-walk shutout in a 5-0 win. In addition, Bell went 2-for-3 in that game with a home run and three RBI. The senior capped off the two-game sweep by striking out seven and walking just one the following day. In the two games, she held her opposition to an .080 batting average.
West
In a doubleheader against Ruidoso, Ramirez was a perfect 9-for-9 with 11 RBI, three doubles and five runs scored. In leading the Rams to a sweep of Ruidoso, the senior infielder knocked in over half of Portales' runs in game two with eight RBI in a 14-8 triumph. She was 5-for-5 with two doubles a home run and three runs scored. Prior to that, she went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored. Ramirez slugged 1.667 in the two contests.
