Blue Ridge boys, Des. Christian girls top fall soccer seeds

Lakeside Blue Ridge (boys) and Tucson Desert Christian (girls) are the top seeds in the Division IV fall soccer tournaments, with bracketing released by the Arizona Interscholastic Association on Friday (Oct. 25).
The tournament begins on Thursday (Oct. 31) at the sites of the higher seeds. Semifinals are Nov. 8 and finals are Nov. 9, both days at Gilbert Campo Verde.
The boys’ tournament will have 12 teams, with the top four getting a first-round bye. The girls’ tournament will feature eight teams.
The boys’ first-round games (seedings in parentheses): Nogales Lourdes Catholic (9) at Tucson Desert Christian (8), 6 p.m.; Phoenix Country Day School (12) at Willcox (5), 6 p.m.; Camp Verde (11) at Show Low (6), 6 p.m.; Tucson Alta Vista (10) at Benson (7), 6 p.m.
The Lourdes-Desert Christian will move to the quarterfinals and play at Blue Ridge on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. The Phoenix Country Day-Willcox winner will play at No. 4 Snowflake on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. The Camp Verde-Show Low winner will play at No. 3 Tucson St. Gregory on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. And the Alta Vista-Benson winner will play at No. 2 Chino Valley on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
The girls’ quarterfinals on Oct. 31: Snowflake (8) at Desert Christian (1), 6 p.m.; Flagstaff Northland Prep (5) at River Valley (4), 6 p.m.; Show Low (6) at Round Valley (3), 4 p.m.; and St. Johns (7) at Blue Ridge (2), 6 p.m.
Blue Ridge is the defending champion in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
