Add another Arizona high school product to the list of those who have reached the major leagues.
James Benjamin Gosewisch, better known as “Tuffy,’’ was called up from Triple-A Reno by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday to fill in as a catcher after starter Miguel Montero went on the 15-day disabled list with a strained back.
Gosewisch, a product of Horizon High in Phoenix who went on to play for Arizona State, made his big-league debut against the Texas Rangers.
Gosewisch, who turns 30 on Aug. 17, originally was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
