Red Mtn. finishes boys hoops interviews; Fazio the guy?

Red Mountain athletic director Jim Gowdy said last week the school had lined up 10 candidates to interview for its open head boys basketball position.
Those interviews began last Friday (March 8) and concluded Monday (March 11). Nine of the 10 coaches that interviewed are currently head coaches, according to Gowdy. And Gowdy said one might be a surprise.
The surprising candidate, and according to several sources the coach the school wants, is current Desert Mountain boys coach Todd Fazio. Sources indicate if Fazio hasn't been offered the job yet, it will be offered to him in short order.
Fazio has coached at Desert Mountain since the 2005-2006 season. The Wolves won the state title in his second season (2006-2007). The Wolves reached the Division I semifiinals this past season (losing to eventual champ Corona del Sol) and also were eliminated last year in the round of 16 narrowly by 2012 champ Corona del Sol.
