Red Mountain's Bre Macha and Mesa Mountain View's Val Kaff  have met a half-dozen times or more the last three seasons and at present Macha is winning the battles. 

Macha gave up an unearned run in the first inning, but was masterful after that in dealing Kaff and Co a 4-1 defeat  in a Division I softball game at Red Mountain.

Red Mountain ran its season record to 9-2 overall and 2-1 in power-ranking games. It also ended Mountain View's winning streak to open the season at 8. Mountain Viewe is 8-1, 2-1 prg.
