No. 2 Mica Mountain beat No. 6 Cactus Shadows 4-0

No. 2 Mica Mountain beat No. 6 Cactus Shadows 4-0 on Saturday to advance to the 4A semifinal round on Thursday where the Bolts will face the winner No. 4 Paradise Honors and No. 5 Arcadia. Paradise Honors (25-4) and Arcadia (24-8) will play on Tuesday in an elimination game.
Mica Mountain (28-4) scored all four of their runs against Cactus Shadows (21-8) in the bottom of the fourth off of a couple of home runs with two outs. Reagan Sutterley doubled with one out and then Nicole Sandison walked with two outs to put two on for freshman Emma Pedrique, who put the Bolts up 3-0 on a home run to left field. Shaylee Fuell followed up with another home run to put her team up 4-0.
Ace Heston (21-4) collected 11 strikeouts in the win while scattering four hits. Lilie Rea (1-1) threw into the fourth inning and Molly Brown (3-1) finished the game for the Falcons. The duo finished with five strikeouts.
Fuell went 2-4, Payton Knight went 2-3 and Sutterley went 2-3. Gianna Lucchesi had a double for Cactus Shadows.
No. 1 Salpointe (25-4) beat Paradise Honors 9-1 to advance to the semifinal round. Salpointe will face the winner of Cactus Shadows and No. 10 Coconino (22-8) on Thursday at Amphitheater High School. Mica Mountain will be the higher seed at Cherry Field in central Tucson.
