No. 2 Catalina Foothills beat No. 15 Ironwood Ridge 6-0 on Wednesday to advance to the Division II quarterfinal round to be played next Wednesday where the Falcons will host No. 10 Cactus Shadows. Cactus Shadows upset No. 7 Paradise Valley 5-3 to set up the match at Catalina Foothills.

Catalina Foothills (12-0) won the D-II state championship last year to make it 18 state championships overall. A player from Catalina Foothills has won the singles championship four of the last five years with Austin Cohen winning the last two. Cohen is now a freshman for William and Mary. The Falcons have also won three of the four doubles championships with Santiago Astengo Jaime joining Parker Servoss last year.

This year, Astengo Jaime is the No. 4 seed for singles and Ahmed Bozdogan will also compete in singles competition. Aaron Zeldin and Finn Griffs are the No. 5 seed in doubles and Rajen Fadia and Kai Sadalla will also compete in doubles competition. Calvin Schall and Elijah Joyce will play doubles for Ironwood Ridge
