Xavier junior Alexis Lamadrid won the 2024 Division II state championship by one stroke over former Casteel standout Jordin Cowing and she followed that up by winning the Mexican Women's Amateur Championship in January of this year in a two-hole playoff over María José Barragán of BYU.

Lamadrid secured an exemption into the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur, scheduled last week at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon. Lamadrid finished tied for 16th place in stroke play. She fell to Sara Brentcheneff of France 2 and 1 in the Round of 64.

Not only is Notre Dame senior Landon Ashcraft a two-time Division I individual champion, he brought home individual accolades at the 53rd Junior America’s Cup that took place at the Columbia Edgewater CC in Portland, Oregon at the end of July.

Ashcraft beat teammate and former Brophy standout Dylan Boenning by nine strokes with a 14-under-par 199 (66-71-62). Ashcraft and Boenning helped lead Team Arizona to a 622-632 victory over Southern California along with Hamilton junior Owen Greenough (T16) and Ajay Morris (T21) of Avondale. This was the first Team Arizona victory since 1992.
