The Brophy Broncos beat the Hamilton Huskies 5-0 to secure back-to-back state championship titles. The Broncos lost to the Huskies earlier in the regular season, 5-4. Brophy head coach Chris Campbell said that the losses earlier in the season helped them get to the championship and win.

“We lost to Catalina Foothills as well as Hamilton,” Campbell said. "I think that served as a wake up call to the fact that if we don’t bring our best game on every court, we are just average.”

Brophy won all matches on courts one through five, with the sixth match not finishing due to Brophy already getting to five points.

In the 2024 championship, these two teams went at it, with the Gators winning by the slimmest of margins, 5-4. This time the Wolves won in dominating fashion by sweeping Xavier Prep 5-0. Desert Mountain head coach Kim Dever said the team worked hard to win the title this year.

“We were so close last year,” Devers said. “So this year, we just went out 200% and the girls worked hard, focused and they were going to take it in five singles and they did.”

This is Desert Mountain's eighth title all time. As for the Xavier Prep Gators, they only had one loss in the regular season and that was to the wolves. The Gators entered the championship matchup with only giving up one point in the tournament. The one point they gave up was against AZ College Prep when the Gators won 5-1.

Catalina Foothills finished the season with a perfect 19-0 record, which includes a win against Division I Brophy Prep. Falcons head coach Bob Loeb earned his 20th state title as a high school tennis coach. Loeb was very adamant on having his team on the bench support all players that are playing matches.

“If you go to watch an University of Arizona men’s tennis match, you are going to see great energy there not only from the players that are playing, but also the ones that are not,” Loeb said. “I wanted to create a true team environment, so I wanted different guys at different courts to support their teammates and create some energy.”
