Red Mountain's Mason Thornman throws for 441 yards, 6 TDs

Red Mountain (Mesa, Ariz.) unleashed a powerful passing attack on Friday during a 46-26 football victory over Westview (Avondale, Ariz.).
According to the East Valley Tribune, Mason Thorman, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound senior quarterback, completed 21 of 29 passes for a school-record 441 yards and five touchdowns (two for 80 yards) with just one interception. He also ran for a sixth touchdown. Senior wide receiver Drake Pierre (5-10, 185) snared eight of those passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns.
Pierre, who had a problem with dropped balls last year, was praised by Thorman, who told the East Valley Tribune, "I would just stand 10 yards away from him (at a local park) and throw bullets as hard as I could to get his hands better. I can't ask more of my receivers to go up and get the balls like he did."
