Destiny Nunan is one of the state's top players and she proved it Thursday night at Mountain View High School in Mesa.
After trailing from nearly start to finish against Colorado's Cherry Creek High, Millennium came back to force overtime, before eventually winning 59-53 in an early round contest of the Nike Tournament of Champions.
Nunan scored 22 of her game-high 28 points in the second half, including six in overtime to provide the difference.

That was a great win and (Cherry Creek) is a really good team," Nunan said afterwards. I feel like once we started moving the ball, we started getting open looks, open feeds, open drives to the lane. And I feel like our defensive aspect started picking up too."
Cherry Creek led by seven points at halftime (24-17) and as much as 10 in the third quarter. But the North Carolina State commit took over in the fourth quarter with 11 points. The Tigers tied the score at 42 with under two minutes left in regulation, and got their first lead of the game in overtime.
