Homecoming is a very busy week for our Valley Christian Spiritline as they had multiple performances for the VCS community. The girls and their coaches choreographed and performed two amazing candy themed routines during the week of September 23rd-27th, some of which were performed multiple times! These performances added to the magic of VCS's Candyland themed "Home Sweet Homecoming" week.

The first routine was the traditional homecoming dance with the senior spiritline girls and senior football boys that was choreographed by our spiritline captains, seniors Libby Juist, Reese Robinson, Peyton Shoffner, and junior Brielle Hunsaker.

The team started their week of performances on Tuesday by performing this dance at the Tempe campus for the K-8 students. This was exciting for the dance members and the 600 cheering and screaming students, especially since their routine started with a portion of the Gummy Bear song and went into Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), which the kids know from the movie Trolls 3.

The routine was then performed again on Friday at the High School Homecoming Assembly.

Robinson, who was partnered with senior football captain Addison Morgan for these performances, commented, "it was fun watching him try to learn how to dance, and as soon as there were people watching, he went all out."

Although it took a while to teach the boys the routine due to their lack of dance experience, they did not fail to keep the energy high. The joint performance was very fun for both teams, and the boys were amazing!

The final routine of the week was performed by our spiritline at the halftime of the junior high football game, which included both JV and Varsity Spiritline members.

Junior captain Brielle Hunsaker shared, "it took about a month to learn the routine, and the performance during halftime was the first time we had hit everything full out. We were all so excited when we walked off the field."

The girls worked incredibly hard 3 to 5 days a week to make sure they mastered their routine. This performance was filled with high flying stunts and flips, which highlighted the amount of girls involved and the excellence of the spiritline program as a whole.

The dedication and passion of the cheerleaders resulted in two amazing performances, and the Valley Christian community is proud of them. They did not fail to wow the crowd with every dance, stunt, and with their enthusiasm throughout. All the blood, sweat, and tears were worth it because overall, it was a successful week. They left a remarkable impression on everyone who witnessed them throughout the week, and we cannot wait to continue to watch them perform the rest of the season!
