Gilbert sophomore Aspen McClees knew what was coming Saturday evening.
Despite playing on their home court in one of Arizona's largest high school gymnasiums, McClees and the Tigers had to overcome not only a talented team from Window Rock, but its enormous contigency of fans that made the 280 mile drive.
Thanks in part to McClees' 18 points, the Tigers took control in the second half before securing a 40-37 victory to win the Epic New Years Tiurnament in front of a packed house that was mostly vocal for the visiting team.
"We kinda knew coming in they were going to have a crowd like this, and coach Walker told us," McClees said afterward.
"I'm just proud of our team and how we handled things."
