MaxPreps 2012 Top 100 High School Baseball Players, presented by New Balance

The 2012 version of the MaxPreps Top 100 Baseball Players is loaded with talented position players, but a pair of pitching teammates rank near the top of the list.
Harvard-Westlake (North Hollywood, Calif.) right-hander Lucas Giolito is the No. 1-ranked player in the nation and he is joined by teammate Max Fried, a left-hander, who comes in at No. 5. However pitchers consitute just 10 of the top 25 players among this year's group. Outfielders are the most represented among the postion players with seven, led by No. 2 overall Byron Buxton of Appling County (Baxley, Ga.).
California has the most players among the Top 100 with 21 followed closely by Florida with 19. A total of 26 states are represented.
