Mesa Mtn View boys bow in 1st round of Grt Western Shootout

Mesa Mountain View's boys basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped Thursday night, losing in the first round of the Great Western Shootout in Orem, Utah.
Mountain View was beaten, 63-56, by Davis High (Kaysville, Utah). Cam Boone scored 27 points to pace Mountain View. Four Davis High players scored in double figures. Mountain View plays again Friday (Dec. 16) at 3 p.m. against Canyon Springs HS (Las Vegas, Nev.). Canyon Springs is the defending 5A champions from Nevada.
Other top teams with championship pedigrees in the tournament are West Jordan HS, Salt Lake City, Utah; Orem HS, Orem, Utah; Highland HS, (Pocatello, Idaho); Lone Peak HS, Highland, Utah and Denver East HS, Denver, Colo.
