Sweet Sixteen Tournament good to Arizona girls basketball

Mesa Mountain View, Dobson and Pinnacle represented Arizona well at the La Jolla Country Day Sweet Sixteen (girls) Invitational that took place Nov. 30 through Dec. 3 in La Jolla, Calif.
Mountain View finished second to tournament host La Jolla Country Day, which steamrolled the compeition in the four-day tourney. LJCD bested Mountain View, 70-31, in the championship game on Saturday night. LJCD won its four games by an average of 31 points. Mountain View finished 3-1.
Dobson took fourth place, reaching the semis and falling to LJCD in the semis and then Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) in the third-place game (55-45). Pinnacle, after losing in the first round, won its final three games and captured the consolation crown with a 70-60 win over Mission Bay (Calif.).
