No one is feeling the affect of the season’s suspension due to the coronavirus more than the Hamilton seniors who were relying on competing to secure a Division 1 offer or be drafted in June.

“It’s a tough situation for them, I know we have a couple guys on our team that worked their tails off for this season for a chance at college ball and for that to be taken away just like that is very tough to see,” said senior catcher Tyler Wilson

Although Wilson and Brueser are both on their way to play in Division 1 programs, the heartbreak of knowing their senior season is likely over is still fresh.

“Yeah it sucks because it’s our last season playing at Hamilton but there is not much we can do besides just sit and hope that we get to play a couple more game,” said Wilson, who is headed to Grand Canyon University

Every athlete on the planet is eagerly waiting to resume their respective sports and rejoin their teammates but have been working out individually to stay in shape and pick up right where they left off.

“We have been lifting and throwing and hitting on our own, “said Brueser.

Nobody  is feeling worse than head coach Mike Woods.

“We are not allowed to do anything with the team, one of the worst aspects of all this is that we are not really connected except for group chats, I miss everyone,” said Woods.

If this season is over, most coaches across the country with a team as elite as the Huskies will always think of what the season could have been.

Hamilton was ranked No. 1 in the country by Maxpreps and was off to a 7-0 start.

“This is a special group and our entire staff enjoyed working with them,” said Woods. “If we do lose the season the story will be what might have been which is a shame, but that goes for all the teams in the state.”

If the season is in fact over, seniors with Division 1 offers like Brueser (ASU) and Wilson will have to get college-ready since the cancellation with bigger rosters and a decrease in promised playing time expected for the incoming freshmen.
