The 4A Conference semifinals are set for Wednesday, Feb. 26 and the field features programs with a combined 15 state championships and 10 runner-up finishes dating back to 1992. Karen Self leads the pack with 10 championships and five runner-up finishes with top-seeded Seton Catholic dating back to 1996 with the last title coming in 2018.

No. 2 Shadow Mountain (25-3) has two state titles and three runner-up finishes including the 2019 state championship over Seton Catholic by a score of 54-31. No. 3 Sahuaro (27-1) has two titles and two runner-up finishes and the Cougars lost to Shadow Mountain 79-55 in the semifinal round last year. No. 5 Flagstaff (25-5) won a state championship in 1992 and the Eagles lost to Seton Catholic 48-18 in the quarterfinals last year.

Here are the match ups:

No. 5 Flagstaff at No. 1 Seton Catholic

Seton Catholic played on the final night every year since 2010 except for a semifinal finish in 2013. With state titles in 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 1999, 1998 and 1997, Self is definitely at the top of her game and another top seed puts the Sentinels back in the driver's seat this year.

According to Self, junior guard Amanda Barcello is the team leader this year:

"Great defender and all around contributor. Leading rebounder. 4A Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and first team all-conference as a sophomore. Multiple mid major DI offers."

Lexi McNabb (So. G) is averaging 11.4 points per game, Sasha Daniel (So. G) is putting 10.9 and Barcello 9.7. With So. LeeLee Willis (9.6), Jr. Annemarie Trojanovich (8.8) and Jr. Bella DiGiovanni (8.6) added to the mix, the Sentinels are very difficult to guard.

Flagstaff has a trio of impressive standouts including 6-foot-1 freshman Miyah Verse (12.8), Sr. Emma Doskicz (11.9) and So. Gracelyn Nez. The Eagles are on a 13-game win streak dating back to a 62-51 loss at Shadow Mountain on Jan. 10. The Eagles also lost to Seton Catholic 59-22 on Dec. 6.

No. 3 Sahuaro at No. 2 Shadow Mountain

The Matadors return almost every member of the 2019 state championship team including the top six scorers. Sr. Senya Rabouin is putting up 20.5 points a game, Sr. Dyamond Butler-Worley is scoring 13.5, Jr. Zhane Jordan is scoring 11.3 and Sr. Kayla Pettet adds 7.3 points an outing to the mix.

The Matadors lost to Seton Catholic 61-56 on Dec. 10 for the team's only loss to a team from Arizona this year.

For Sahuaro, all eyes will be on junior forward Alyssa Brown.

"She possesses every trait that you would want your leader to possess," said head coach Steve Botkin. "She is a team captain, junior class president and an "A" student. She is averaging 31 points and 10 rebounds per game. Top six in the country for scoring average. Gatorade All- Arizona candidate and two-time back-to-back MaxPreps Region player of the week."

Brown has 2,044 career points and she scored 34 points and picked up 11 rebounds against Shadow Mountain last year as a sophomore. Lucky Franke (Jr. G) is putting in 11.9 points per game and Lily Watson (Jr. F) adds 7.3.
