Sept. 25-26: Dobson Ranch Golf Course

Arcadia standout Gavin Aurilia shot a 9-under-par 135 to capture the championship of the Dobson Classic held at the Dobson Ranch Golf Course on Wednesday and Thursday.

Aurilia paced himself to victory by shooting a 6-under 66 on day one but the match was still in doubt because Cactus Shadows standout Jacob Tarkany was only one shot back with a 67 heading into the second round on Thursday. Aurilia and Tarkany stayed even with each other on Thursday with a 3-under 69, giving Aurilia the one-stroke victory.

Pinnacle’s Joseph Lloyd came in third with a 5-under 139. Lloyd was one of Pinnacle golfers to finish in the top 16, giving the Pioneers a seven stroke victory over Arcadia for the team title.
