Golf tees off the fall season

While many are focusing on Thursday as the start to the 2019 fall sports season, the season actually starts on Monday, August 19 on 10 golf courses throughout the state with the highlight match taking place between the girls of Catalina Foothills and Ironwood Ridge.
The match features nine of the top returners from Southern Arizona along with a few newcomers:

Ironwood Ridge will host the Nighthawk Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 23-24) at the Omni Tucson National, host site of the AIA state playoffs. Teams scheduled to take part are: Ironwood Ridge, Catalina Foothills, Notre Dame Prep, Salpointe Catholic, Hamilton, Cienega, Desert Vista, Xavier Prep, Perry, Millennium, Corona del Sol and Cactus Shadows.
The Brophy Invitational on the boy’s side is scheduled for Friday at the Grayhawk Golf Club: Mountain Ridge, Notre Dame Prep, Brophy Prep, Hamilton, Pinnacle, Desert Vista, Perry, Chaparral, Williams Field and Arcadia.
